Bristol Dojo Ltd and Imperial Karate Club in association with Kachi-Do would like to invite you to attend the 5th South West Open Championships to be held on November 9th 2008 at Hutton Moor Leisure Centre, Hutton moor road, Weston-super-Mare, England. BS22 8LY. south_west_open_nov_08_entry

Again we have brand new performance Tatami’s and also the latest electronic scoreboards from Italy on each of the 5 areas. To ensure the event runs smoothly and safely and also fully complies with WKF rules in both Kumite and Kata we have managed to secure the services of Mr Vince Parker European Kumite “A” and Kata Judge “A” Referee and his team of nationally qualified referee’s. We will also continue to support the newly added categories including Kata pairs where any two club members can compete as a team and again by popular demand the parent & child Kata pairs. There will also be the Veteran categories and also the Special needs category as seen last time. If you have any Special needs students please encourage them to compete to help get the message across that Karate is accessible to all.

It’s too late to compete, but you could still go along to watch.

I’m trying to get a listing of any major martial arts competitions and post them here in one place. Currently I’m scouring the internet for any notifications and adding them without changing any of the original wording. If you are hosting/organising an event and would  like me to add it to my listings, please let me know either here by adding a comment or emailing  me directly at hanna@karatekit.co.uk 

On the other hand, if I’ve listed your competition and you’d rather I didn’t (as I didn’t seek your permission originally) then please don’t hesitate to contact me and I’ll remove it. My only intention is to allow martial artists to find competitions (especially open ones) that they may like to attend.
